Dean’s Message

Dear Esteemed students of University of Gondar,

On behalf of student service dean office, I’m delighted to welcome all of you to the University of Gondar which is usually called University of peace. Besides, I’m very much excited to tell you that you are very lucky to join our University because it is awarded three consecutive awards of quality of education among all higher education institutions in Ethiopia. I want to also inform you that our University has the ability and good culture of surviving from different challenging situations such as Covid-19 pandemic and national internal conflict.

Honestly, you are the heart of our University, the motivation of staff and brighten /gaiety/ of historic Gondar community at large. Additionally, you are the vital constituent of the University to realize our inspirational vision. That is why we are strongly striving to deliver quality services for you in five major student service milestones.

To realize the vision and the mission of the University, the student service dean office is committed to develop and improve its performance to reach you and deliver the appropriate service that is effective, efficient and excellent in five student service milestone in each five campus. Among these services quality food service for students is the first mentioned one. In this regard, we are highly committed to supply quality food service that is witnessed by different graduated students. Student dormitory service is the second important service that usually attracts our attention and we are successful in this dimension also. Thirdly, our health professionals are delivering a 24 hours medical care to maintain your wellbeing efficiently. If you got any psychosocial problem throughout your stay in our campuses, please don’t hesitate to contact our guidance and counseling professionals in each campus. The other important student service that has to be mentioned here is sport and recreation. You can got full package of these recreational services as far as you need. In short these five major services have been given to our students for a long period of time in our five huge campuses.

To facilitate the urgent response of different emergent problems, we have appointed different members of student union, peace forum and ethics and anti-corruption students in each campus. However, if you want to communicate student service dean, you are very much welcome and I’m ready to hear your voices as well as suggestions.

Furthermore, our University has several graduates who passed through different student services and they are the ambassadors of our University all over the world. Finally, I wish you joyful and fruitful life and success throughout your academic journey in the University stay.
